Description

Increases participants' confidence and effectiveness by deepening their skills in client-centered techniques of MI, including OARS (open-ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summaries). Motivational Interviewing is a counseling approach proven to help people change potentially harmful behaviors. We will focus on two challenging situations: clients who seem ambivalent about change, (those who are pulled between wanting to change and not wanting to change a problematic behavior) and second, clients who express resistance or resentment.
