Description

Deepens participants’ understanding of harm reduction principles and connects these with the experience of what it means to work from a harm reduction perspective, so that they can incorporate this orientation into everyday work with clients. Introduces some basic tools and concepts of Motivational Interviewing and pairs these with harm reduction strategies to help participants practice guiding clients toward change targets, and away from harmful consequences. Explores a variety of potential change targets and strategies, with a focus on those related to substance use and sexual health.
